Claxton's Grain Barn 30 Year Old Batch 2 (70cl, 48%)

Grain Barn 30 Year Old is a single grain Scotch whisky from Claxton's, released as batch 2 in its Core Range at 48%. The spirit comes from a grain distillery in the Highlands and spent thirty years maturing in ex-bourbon casks. It was matured and bottled by Claxton's, with the ageing done in traditional warehousing in the former grain stores of Sandbed Farm on the Dalswinton Estate. The bottle comes in a box. Tasting notes mention rich fruit, spicy butter cake and walnuts, with light earthy notes of forest mushrooms and a full-bodied apple pie dough character.
