This is a single malt Irish whiskey from Clonakilty Distillery on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. It is double distilled, then finished in red wine casks from Château La Cardonne in Bordeaux. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The Bordeaux casks add plum, blackcurrant and raspberry to the malt, alongside soft oak, honey, vanilla and spice from cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
The nose is soft oak and honey with floral plum and fresh red berries. The palate is rich, with oak spice, vanilla and ripe red fruit. The finish is long and warming, with drying spice, vanilla cream and lingering oak.
