Clonakilty Bordeaux Cask Finished is an Irish whiskey from West Cork, in a 70cl bottle. It was first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then given a second maturation in red wine casks from Bordeaux châteaux. It is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour.
The nose offers blackcurrant, dark cherry and summer berry compote, with vanilla, toasted brioche and gentle oak tannins. The palate is silky, with ripe plum, bramble and dark chocolate, plus a hint of spice, toasted almonds and some wine acidity. The finish is long and dry, with dried red fruits and dark cocoa.
