Clonakilty – Galley Head Irish Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

Clonakilty Galley Head is an Irish blended whiskey bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It is named for the lighthouse built in 1875 on the Atlantic headland just outside Clonakilty, Co. Cork. It marries Clonakilty Single Pot Still whiskey with Irish grain whiskey, matured in hand-selected ex-bourbon casks. The whiskey is matured, finished and bottled at the family distillery, and the family grows its own barley on a farm overlooking the Atlantic. The nose is raspberry and baked green apples. On the palate come vanilla, gentle wood spice, rich raisin and ginger spice, followed by a finish with hints of elderberry.
