Galley Head Bourbon Cask is an Irish blended whiskey from Clonakilty Distillery in West Cork. It combines 20% Clonakilty single pot still whiskey, distilled from malted and unmalted barley, with premium grain whiskey.
The whiskey matured only in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is green apple, part fresh and part baked, with raspberry and wild honey. On the palate come coconut and oat biscuit, vanilla, raisins and a gentle sweetness. The finish is light and fresh, with ginger, elderberry and fine cinnamon spice alongside lasting sweetness.
