Clonakilty Port Cask Finished Irish Whiskey is a blend of grain and malt whiskey from West Cork, in a 70cl bottle. It was first aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in ruby port casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal. It is bottled without chill-filtration.
The nose brings cherries, raspberries and plum jam with vanilla and hazelnut. On the palate come dark chocolate, stewed blackberries and sultanas, with black pepper and oak spice. The finish is long and dry, with red berry compote, cocoa and a little coastal salinity.
