Clydebuilt 'Riveter' Ardgowan 15 Year Old

A single grain whisky from a Lowland distillery, bottled as 'Riveter', the fourth release in the Clydebuilt series from the Ardgowan Distillery Company. It is the first single grain in that series. The whisky was matured for 15 years in first-fill bourbon barrels, and only 15 casks went into this bottling. The nose opens with dark stewed fruit, then brings furniture polish, lemon curd, figs, leather and a hint of old books. The palate is dry, with butterscotch, five-spice powder, mint chocolate chips and brown sugar. The finish is long and mild.
