Clynelish – 14 Years Old (46%)

This is the 14 year old single malt from Clynelish, bottled at 46% ABV. It is the distillery's flagship, a Highland malt with coastal and lightly peaty tones and the waxy character Clynelish is known for. Clynelish was built opposite Brora, which closed in 1983, and succeeded it. This bottling is a little less peaty than the older Brora releases. The nose is fresh, with mandarin, tangerine and some smoke. The palate is fairly light and clear, with orange, soft acidity, dry oak, mixed fruit, vanilla and leather. The finish is fairly long, with a developing bittersweetness and spicy oak.
