Cockburn's Vintage Port 2016 is a vintage port from the Douro, in a 75cl bottle. It is a Douro Superior blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, supported by Sousão and Alicante Bouschet. The house was founded in Porto in 1815 by the Scotsman Robert Cockburn and his brother John, and has long been known for vintage port.
The nose is relatively closed and restrained, with graphite, dark berries and dried roses over an underlying ripeness. The palate brings plum, blackberry, cassis and liquorice, with Black Forest cake notes and fine-grained tannins. The finish is big and broad, with spice and incense.
