Cohobé – Libération French Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Libération is a French single malt from Cohobé, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made entirely in France, from French barley grown by cereal growers not far from the Cognac region, where the whisky is produced, and malted in the country. Like Cognac, it is double distilled in a small alembic still, and the spirit is then aged in fine-grained French oak barrels. The name refers to letting the barley and the oak express themselves fully. On the nose, woody and mineral notes open into floral, fruity and spicy scents with roasted and balsamic touches. The palate is rich and led by fruit, with sunlit cereal fields, pastries, candied fruit and autumnal spice, followed by a persistent finish.
