Corowa Distilling Co. – Bosque Verde Australian Single Malt Whisky (50cl, 46%)

This is an Australian single malt from Corowa Distilling Co., bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle. Bosque Verde was the distillery's second release. An earlier bottling was at 56.6%, and this version brings the whisky down to 46%. The name is Spanish for green forest and belongs to the farm where most of the barley is grown. The whisky was matured for no less than two years in ex-Port American oak barrels, and the date of distillation is handwritten on each bottle. The nose offers cherries, pear, raisins, spice, oak and hints of chocolate. The palate is spicy, with cinnamon, nuttiness and malt. The finish is long, sweet and soft, with a hint of vanilla.
