Cotswolds Odyssey Barley is an English single malt, distilled in 2015 and bottled in January 2019 at three years old. It is a small batch release of 6,200 bottles at 46%.
The whisky was matured in a mix of bourbon casks and STR red wine casks, the latter made from former red wine barrels that are shaved, toasted and re-charred.
The nose is golden honey and creamy caramel with sun-ripened peaches, apricots and a touch of marzipan. On the palate, brown sugar and honey meet ripe berries, with spicy tannins adding a dry edge. The long finish is led by intense blackberry.
