A cask strength single malt from the Cotswolds Distillery, bottled at 60.5% ABV as Batch 4/2019. It comes from the casks favoured by the distillery's founder, Dan: cleaned, toasted and charred American oak with a touch of red wine. The whisky is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and used red wine casks, and the batch is dedicated to the memory of Dr Jim Swan, who designed the casks.
The nose is dry hay and cut wood with dark chocolate, dried figs and plums in sweet syrup. The palate is warm grain and toast with fresh red fruit, coconut and vanilla. The finish is spicy oak, dried fruit and a lingering dry nutty note.
