Cotswolds – Single Malt 2014 Odyssey Barley

This is an English single malt from the Cotswolds distillery, made from the 2014 Odyssey barley and released as Batch 03/2018. It was the first whisky ever distilled at the Cotswolds. The barley is 100% locally grown and floor-malted. The whisky matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and used red wine casks, with no second-cask finish. The nose offers honey and cream caramel, then peaches and apricots with a hint of marzipan. The palate is malty and oily with sugar, plenty of spice and caramelised orange marmalade. The finish is long, with red fruits and a touch of molasses.
