Crown Royal XO is a blended Canadian whisky finished in former cognac casks, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV.
It is a marriage of 50 Crown Royal whiskies made from five mash bills using rye, corn and barley at the distillery in Gimli, Manitoba. The cognac finish adds dried fruit depth and a vinous quality.
Vanilla and caramel lead the nose, with dried stone fruit and orange peel. The palate is soft and honeyed, with maple, cinnamon and ginger. The finish is medium and gently drying, with black pepper and oak spice.
