Daftmill Winter Batch Release is a single malt from a Lowland farm distillery owned and run by the Cuthbert family. It was distilled on 16 December 2006 and bottled in 2018, in an edition of 1,265 bottles.
It is a vatting of five first-fill bourbon casks, all filled on the day of distillation.
The nose is stewed rhubarb, honey and barley, with juicy oranges and pancakes with maple syrup, then fresh apple and pear. The palate has stewed fruit, citrus and waxy notes with vanilla, almond and dried oak. The finish is long, with spice, soft nectarine sweetness, wood spice and nutmeg.
