Daftmill – 2010 Summer Batch Release 2021 (70cl, 46%)

This is a Lowland single malt from Daftmill, distilled in the summer of 2010 and bottled by the distillery in 2021 in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It has no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered. The release is a limited edition of 6250 bottles, vatted from 25 first-fill ex-bourbon casks. It comes from the last season in which Daftmill used the Optic barley strain. The nose offers tinned peaches in syrup, vanilla custard eclairs and sherbet lemons, with hazelnut spread emerging over time. The palate brings sweet brioche, butter popcorn, lemon zest and dried apricot. The finish has more vanilla and lingering spice.
