Daftmill – 2011 Summer Batch Release (2023) (70cl, 46%)

Daftmill 2011 Summer Batch Release is a 12 year old Lowland single malt, bottled by the distillery at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2011 and bottled in September 2023, with an outturn of 6,550 bottles. The whisky matured in 27 first-fill bourbon casks from Clermont Springs, Kentucky. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Daftmill is a farm distillery that works on a small scale with homegrown barley. The nose brings fresh apple, pear, citrus zest, soft vanilla and light floral notes. The palate is creamy, with honey, malt, green apple and soft oak, leading to a medium-long, dry finish with a little spice.
