Daftmill – 2011 Winter Batch Release, Bottled 2024

Daftmill 2011 Winter Batch Release is a Lowland single malt from the Cuthbert family's farm distillery in Fife, made with barley grown on the Daftmill estate. It was distilled in December 2011 and matured for 12 years in 27 first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. Bottled in 2024, just weeks before its 13th birthday, the outturn was 7,500 bottles. Tasting notes run to honeyed barley, marzipan, vanilla and sweet grassy notes on the nose, then baked apple, caramel, citrus zest and gentle spice on the palate. The finish is lingering, with creamy vanilla and orchard fruit.
