Daftmill – 2012 Winter Release

This is the Winter Release from Daftmill, a single malt from spirit distilled and filled into cask in winter 2012. It was vatted from 12 casks, five first-fill sherry hogsheads and seven first-fill bourbon barrels, and bottled in February 2026. Only 3,475 bottles were made. The sherry casks are described as adding Christmas cake, dried fruit, oak and winter spices. The bourbon casks contribute barley sugar, buttery shortbread, vanilla and orchard fruit. The whisky is described as round and mouth-coating, with balanced sweetness and spice and a warm, lively finish.
