Daftmill – Summer Batch Release 2009 UK Edition

Daftmill is a Lowland farm distillery run by the Cuthbert family, and this Summer Batch Release is a single malt from the 2009 vintage. The Optic barley was grown in the farm's South fields, harvested in the last week of August 2006 and malted in Alloa in the summer of 2007. It combines a first fill ex-oloroso butt with four ex-bourbon barrels, all distilled and filled in July and August 2009. It is the first Daftmill release to include whisky matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. The bottling is one of 1,875 bottles.
