Daftmill – Summer Batch Release 2009 UK Edition

Daftmill Summer Batch Release 2009 is a Lowland single malt from the Cuthbert family's farm distillery, which runs only in the farm's quiet periods, in mid-summer and winter. The barley, a variety called Optic, was grown on the estate, harvested in late August 2006 and malted in Alloa the following summer. The bottling combines one first-fill oloroso butt with four ex-bourbon barrels, all distilled and filled in July and August 2009. It is the first Daftmill release to hold whisky matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. The outturn is 1,875 bottles.
