Daftmill – Winter Batch Release 2006 UK Edition

This is a winter batch release of Daftmill, a Lowland single malt from a farm distillery owned and run by the Cuthbert family. It is a UK edition of 1625 bottles, made from whisky in first fill Bourbon barrels that were filled on 16th December 2006. Daftmill only distils when the farm is quiet, in mid-summer and winter, and sometimes produces as few as 100 casks a year. Francis Cuthbert also looks after the estate, which grows the malting barley. This spirit was distilled from clear wort in the winter of 2006, using a slow distillation and very high, narrow cut points to capture the lightest, most delicate flavours of the barley.
