Dalmore – 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from the Dalmore distillery, which stands west of Alness at the mouth of the Averon, looking across to the Black Isle. The name comes from the Gaelic for the big meadowland. Half of the whisky matured in American white oak and half in casks from Jerez de la Frontera that held sweet oloroso sherry for many years. Blender Richard Paterson selected the casks, aiming for a balance between spirit, wood and maturation.
