Dalmore King Alexander III is a Highland single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Dalmore was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson, on the Cromarty Firth near Alness.
The whisky matured in six types of cask: ex-bourbon, Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, Madeira, Marsala, port and Cabernet Sauvignon barriques.
The nose offers red fruit, orange peel, caramel and dark chocolate, with coffee, vanilla, roasted nuts and a little spice. The palate is full and velvety with ripe plum, toffee, sherry and roasted almonds. The finish is long and warming, with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
