Dalmore – Port Wood (70cl, 46.5%)

Dalmore Port Wood is a distillery bottling of Highland single malt, matured in port wood and bottled at 46.5% abv in a 70cl bottle. The nose has oranges studded with cloves, generous plum and raspberry fruit and a trace of sponge cake. The palate starts with chocolate before waves of dried fruit and candied ginger arrive; after a few more sips an earthy bitterness appears, balanced by very runny honey. The finish brings roasted chestnuts, gingerbread and tobacco.
