Dalmore Quartet is a Highland single malt from the Dalmore distillery, released in 2020 and bottled at 41.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is coloured and chill-filtered.
The name refers to four separate cask routes. The malt first matured in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak. It was then divided between first-fill ex-bourbon casks, casks that held 30-year-old Matusalem and Apostoles sherry, and Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon barriques, before the four parts were brought back together.
The nose offers Madagascan vanilla, candied blood orange and ripe red grapes. On the palate come Christmas stollen and sherried raisins with soft, slightly chewy liquorice. The finish carries Doyenne pear, raspberry coulis and chocolate truffle.
