This is a nine-year-old Dalmunach single malt from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & Macphail for its Spirit of Scotland Series. It was distilled in 2016, matured in a single bourbon barrel and bottled at a cask strength of 63% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is one of 232 bottles from that cask.
Dalmunach was built by Chivas Brothers in 2014 on the site of the former Imperial distillery, and takes its name from a nearby pool in the River Spey.
The tasting notes describe ripe banana, nectarine and vanilla custard, then a creamy, sweet palate of exotic fruit with a hint of pepper, and a lively finish with aniseed.
