Sherry Garcia Vol. 3 is the third release in the Oloroso sherry-finished series from Dark Arts Whiskey House of Lexington, Kentucky. It is a straight bourbon made from a mash of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, distilled in Indiana and aged 8.5 years before finishing in Oloroso sherry wine casks.
It is bottled at cask strength, 57.03% ABV (114.06 proof), non-chill filtered, in a 75cl bottle. The first release in the series was 7.5 years old and a little lower in proof.
The nose is dried cranberry, dark cherry, charred orange peel, fudge and caramel. The palate adds honey, walnut, baking spice and a thread of tobacco, and the finish is long and warming, with oak spice and sherry depth.
