Darroze Les Grands Assemblages 8 Year Old is a Bas-Armagnac from Maison Darroze, and one of the youngest expressions in the Les Grands Assemblages range. It is made from Baco and Ugni Blanc and aged for eight years, with the influence of oak kept deliberately measured so the fruit of the eau-de-vie leads.
On the nose it is expressive, with ripe prune, candied citrus and quince, and wood and spice emerging later. The palate is lively yet supple, with plum, candied orange and stone fruit and a light touch of wood. The finish stays fresh, with ripe and candied fruit and gentle spice. It is bottled at 43% abv.
