Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon French Oak Cask Finish is made in Owensboro, Kentucky, under a brand founded in 1874 and revived by Lux Row Distillers. It is bottled at 48% (96 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
The bourbon blends a wheated mash bill with a high-rye one. It is aged in new charred American oak barrels, then finished in French oak casks, which add mouthfeel and a light tannic structure.
The nose shows vanilla, toffee, baked apple and toasted oak, with dark chocolate and roasted almonds. The palate brings caramel, honey, ripe cherry, nutmeg and cocoa, and the finish is long, with oak spice, milk chocolate and toasted coconut.
