This is a 12 year old single malt from Deanston, issued as Release 16 in a collaboration with Matt Dosa. It was distilled in 2012 and matured in a full-size Moscatel pipe, then bottled at 55.8% ABV. The outturn is 550 bottles.
The nose is bready, like a birthday cake fresh from the oven, with a little ginger heat and orange peel. On the palate there are baking spices, candied ginger and a honeyed waxiness, with the Moscatel in the background. The finish is medium to long, moving between sweet oak and a peppery kick.
