Deanston 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46.3% ABV without chill filtration.
It was matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks. Deanston began as a cotton mill on the River Teith, and the distillery now generates its own electricity from a hydroelectric turbine on that river.
The nose is warm and earthy, with honeycomb, waxy orange peel, nutmeg and malted biscuit. On the palate come toffee, vanilla, toasted cereal and soft oak spice, with dried apricot. The finish is long and clean, with soft tannins and a touch of citrus.
