This is a 28 year old Deanston single malt from 1991, finished for two years in Muscat casks. It is a limited edition of 1402 bottles, each in a 70cl bottle.
Deanston is known for a soft, honeyed malt, and the Muscat finish takes it in a fruitier, oilier and fuller-bodied direction. The colour is a rich copper.
The nose opens with a sweet perfume of peach and cereal, giving the impression of a fruit crumble. The palate is full bodied and mouth coating, with oily citrus notes, and the short finish ends with a hint of cocoa.
