Deanston – 2002 Organic American Oak 20 Year Old (70cl, 49.7%)

This is a 20 year old organic single malt from Deanston, a limited edition from the 2002 vintage. It is bottled at a cask strength of 49.7% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and with no added colour. The whisky was matured for 20 years in hand-selected, re-charred American oak casks, which give Deanston's waxy, citrus character. The distillery has been certified by the Organic Food Federation since 2000, and the whisky is organic from grain to glass. The nose combines vanilla and caramel with cedar, wood spice and ripe fruit. The palate is rich yet dry, with honey spice, stone fruits, toasted oak and freshly cut grass. The finish is of desiccated coconut and a touch of cocoa.
