Decadent Drinks Old Orkney 21 Year Old (70cl)

Old Orkney 21 Year Old is the third official Old Orkney bottling from Decadent Drinks, a small batch single malt bottled at natural cask strength. It is a multi-vintage vatting of equal parts from two casks: a 2003 plain oak refill hogshead and a 1999 first-fill ex-bodega sherry butt. The two were combined and married in a second-fill sherry butt for at least six months before bottling. The result is a robust, well-sherried malt with a rugged, drying and salty sherry profile, underpinned by a gentle thread of Orcadian peat smoke. Old Orkney was the bottling brand of Stromness Distillery, which closed in 1928.
