Deux Familles Single Batch Madeira Cask is a Cognac blended from eaux-de-vie of the Fins Bois and Bons Bois crus. Each is matured separately in French oak for around six to eight years before the two are combined.
The blend then moves into 225-litre French oak casks that previously held sweet Madeira wine for a second maturation. It is bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered, with no added sugar or caramel colouring.
The nose offers raisins, dried prunes, sweet Madeira, balsamic notes and delicate toasted oak, followed by toffee, coconut, warm wood and a mineral freshness. Rich fruit leads on the palate.
