Deux Familles XO is a Cognac from the Cognac region of France, a deep amber blend of mature eaux-de-vie aged in oak. As an XO, the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has spent at least ten years in oak.
It is a 10 cask batch selection, so the final blend is assembled from individually selected oak-aged eaux-de-vie. The bottle is embossed glass with a cream-and-copper label.
The nose offers dried apricot, golden raisins, candied orange peel, vanilla, toasted oak and gentle baking spice. The palate is rounded, with dried fruit, caramel, vanilla bean and oak spice. The finish is warming and lingering, with seasoned oak and mellow sweetness.
