Domaine du Tariquet Blanche Bas Armagnac (75cl, 46%)

An unaged Blanche Armagnac from Domaine du Tariquet, made entirely from Folle Blanche and bottled at 46% vol. in a 75cl bottle. It carries the Bas Armagnac appellation, where the soils are siliceous clay, acid and sometimes iron-bearing, known locally as Sables Fauves or tawny sands. The nose is led by fresh pear and lime blossom, with salt, almond and caramel emerging as it breathes. The palate shows pear and caramel with intense black pepper, then persistent spice and hints of plum and green apple. It finishes strongly, with a touch of dried flowers.
