Big Peat Small Batch is a blended malt from the independent bottler Douglas Laing, a family-owned company since 1948. It is a vatting of Islay single malts, including Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen, bottled at 46% without chill filtration or colouring. This edition comes in a 20cl bottle.
The nose brings coastal smoke, tarred rope, smoked ham and seaweed. The palate is peaty and rugged, with charcoal, black pepper, salted liquorice and sweet barley beneath. The finish is long and ashy, with a briny fade and bonfire embers.
