Douglas Laing Big Peat Small Batch Islay Blended Malt (70cl, 46%)

Big Peat Small Batch is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is a vatting of Islay single malts only, with no grain whisky, and includes Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose brings bonfire embers, smoked bacon and damp rope, with lemon peel and malt sweetness. The palate is powerful but balanced, with ashy peat, tarred wood, sea salt, charred citrus and black pepper. The finish is long, smoky and dry, fading through coastal brine and burnt sugar.
