Old Particular Midnight Series Bunnahabhain 19 Year Old is a single cask Islay malt bottled by Douglas Laing at 54.9% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2004 and matured in a refill sherry butt. It is bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill filtered and natural in colour. The refill cask lets the maritime character of the distillery come through, with the sherry adding depth in a subtle way. The nose offers sea salt, roasted nuts, cocoa, dried fig and a soft thread of smoke. On the palate, sherried fruit and salted caramel lead to dark chocolate, tobacco and gentle spice. The finish is long and warm, with oak, cocoa and a sea breeze note.
