Dry Fly Straight Triticale Whiskey is made from triticale, a hybrid of rye and wheat, by Dry Fly Distilling in Spokane, Washington. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The distillery was founded by Don Poffenroth, who built it on a love of fly-fishing and the Pacific Northwest, using local ingredients from Washington farms. The grain brings together the spice of rye and the soft body of wheat.
The nose is fresh grain, bread and malt with toffee, vanilla, chocolate and blackberry spice. The palate is roasty and malty, with rye bread, dark chocolate, a touch of cassis and apple, balanced and persistent.
