It was made at the Old Prentice Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Eagle Rare was created in 1975 at Old Prentice, which later became known as the Four Roses Distillery under Seagram ownership. This release dates from the brand's early years in Lawrenceburg, before Buffalo Trace acquired the label and moved production to Frankfort.
