This is the Distillery Edition of Edradour, a 10 year old single malt bottled at 46%. Edradour was founded in 1825 by eight local farmers and is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
The whisky was matured in Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled unfiltered and without added colour.
The nose is sweet and fruity, with candied apples, toasted grain and a delicate nuttiness. On the palate there are ripe apples and malt sweetness, with chocolate and dried fruit set against lightly dry oak. The finish is warming and lasting, with spice from the Oloroso casks.
