El Jolgorio Arroqueño 'Black Bottle' 18th Edition Mezcal (53.2%)

This is the 18th Edition of the El Jolgorio Black Bottle series, a mezcal made entirely from wild Arroqueño agave (Agave deserti) from Oaxaca. The agave is roasted in pit ovens lined with hot stones, fermented in the open air with indigenous yeasts and distilled in small-batch pot stills. It is bottled at 53.2% abv. The nose offers fresh herbs, citrus blossom and green apple. On the palate, herbal notes, citrus peel and mineral earth sit with savoury smoke and a little sweetness, and the finish is long and evolving.
