El Jolgorio Tobaziche is the 15th Edition of the Black Bottle Series, a mezcal made from wild Agave karwinskii var. tobaziche grown in Oaxaca. It is bottled at 48% ABV. The agave is slow-cooked in wood-fired pit ovens lined with heated stones, fermented in the open air with indigenous yeasts, and distilled in small batches in copper or clay pot stills. The style is vegetal and herbal, with refined smokiness and mineral nuance. Fresh herbs, citrus peel and stony minerality unfold on the palate, with a long finish of herbal notes and light smoke.
