El Jolgorio Sierrudo 'Black Bottle' 6th Edition is a mezcal at 50.1% abv from the El Jolgorio series, which focuses on rare agave varieties. It is made from wild-harvested Agave angustifolia Sierrudo from the hill country of Oaxaca. The agaves are roasted in earthen and stone pits, which brings smoke and caramelisation. Fermentation is natural and spontaneous, in open-air wooden vats with indigenous yeasts, and the spirit is distilled in small batches in copper pot stills. The character is earthy and savoury, with roasted agave, mineral smoke and a textured palate.
