Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask Cask Strength (54.5%)

This is a blended malt Scotch whisky from the core range of the Elements of Islay series, bottled at a cask strength of 54.5%. It was matured in a mix of first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, and it combines smoky, peppery Islay character with a balanced profile. The nose is fairly tropical, with pineapple, banana, vanilla sugar and fragrant oak, and a snuffed candle and oily cinders behind. The palate has syrupy sponge with lemon zest, nutty maple and firm peat smoke, softened by chocolate biscuits and vanilla cream. Crème brûlée runs through the finish as the smoke fades sweetly.
