Elements of Islay 'Cask Edit' (70cl, 46%)

Cask Edit is an Islay blended malt Scotch whisky from Specialty Drinks, part of the Elements of Islay series and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matures in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which add layers of fruit and nuts, buttery pastry and roasted coffee to a gently smoky malt at its centre. The nose brings charred oak, candied nuts, orchard fruit, praline and vanilla, with delicate peat smoke. On the palate there are woody caramel, almond croissants, dark roasted coffee beans and earthy vanilla, and the finish stays fresh and fruity with sweet spice and elegant smoke.
